THIS IS LOVE

With two people,
You have infinite possibilities to connect.
Inevitably,
One will give way,
Even if just temporarily,
Telling themselves,
I trust.
Or,
It’s only for the moment.
Usually,
in exchange for something,
Pleasure, solidity, protection, warmth,
a temporary relief.
We try and make these deals.
Using reason as a guide.
But sometimes it’s not that,
but something given with no expectation of return.
An action done in anonymity.
Perhaps then,
This is love.
