THE TREES AND THE LIGHT

Light Through The Trees

I’m taking a walk in a Redwood Forest. It is still morning, and the light angling through the trees near where I’m walking suggests Angels, a miracle, or something really, really good is happening.

Later,

I’m reading an online newspaper article about how the biggest donor to the midterm elections is a venture capital firm. As I scroll, I dodge questions (with my eyes), questions like, “Do I have lung cancer?” or “What are the signs of Prostate cancer?” that pop up periodically, along with suggestions of other things to read, like,

“Thanks to Mormon Wives, Dirty Soda is a National Obsession”
“On The Pitt, She Clocked Out on Time. In Real Life, It Started a Debate”
“6 Must-See Venice Shows”
And an ad for Long Wear Makeup by Estee Lauder

Every few paragraphs, there are more suggestions of things I can buy that are related to things I have purchased before.

This is the world now.

I can only scroll through the article for so long, then I stop.

No. The trees and the light.

This is the world.
