BUNCH OF NOBODIES

A field of tall prairie grass.
Behind us,
The Tetons,
Ahead,
Idaho falls.
Early afternoon,
we pulled over,
and got out.
Wind,
Nothing but wind,
Filling our ears,
our heads, with sound.
That expression,
“the middle of nowhere”
We were,
Between two points.
Not married, no kids.
Careers?
Who knows.
Just silent wind
blowing thru us.
A bunch of nobodies.
Happy as can be.
