ONE TIME

One time,
A marching band appeared from nowhere
And went right past our window.
Another time,
We climbed a mountain and walked in the snow.
Another time,
We sat in a redwood forest and listened.
Sometimes living in expectation,
Or fear,
Of what hasn’t happened yet,
Leads us to believe,
That our lives have yet to be magical.
When much to our surprise,
There’s been so much magic,
And we have only missed the revelation
Because we’ve been swimming in it all along.
