WE CAN STILL DO THIS

At first it seemed uncomfortable,

Dealing with the multitude of inconveniences of modern life,

Cars, traffic, parking lots, masks,

To go and sit,

And watch and listen,

With other people.

But then the lights go out,

And there is music,

Just piano at first,

But a melody we know.

Sitting there,

Being transported thru time or memory,

To some other place,

Where feeling and being together,

Were meant to go together.

There is movement,

Graceful, sweet, athletic, sexy,

Swatches of color flowing,

Like those spinning paint wheels,

We used to get at the fair.

There is music,

Alive, familiar, real, felt, reaching,

But changed by the moment.

There is something sweet and sentimental about it all,

But still,

There is a reminder,

Sitting here and feeling,

Remembering or thinking ahead,

That we have the capacity to be moved as one,

That we can still do this.
