WHEN TIMES GET TOUGH

They took a boat across the ocean to Antarctica.
Back then, they were called adventurers.
Their plan was to use sleds and dogs to go across the continent.
Everyone knew what they were doing,
But no one knew where they were exactly.
Somewhere else,
World War 1 was just getting started.
The ocean turned into ice that surrounded their boat,
And slowly started to crush them.
So they took all their things and got off the boat,
Put everything onto the ice,
Played some soccer for a bit,
Ate some seal meat and drank some tea.
Eventually the boat sank.
They decided they needed to go home.
So they walked across the icebergs in the ocean,
Pulling their rescue row boats behind them,
Until there was enough water for them to put the boats in the ocean.
They found an island where they could land,
Which was essentially rock cliffs and ice,
Drank some more tea and ate some more seal meat,
And made a plan.
Six of them would cross hundreds of miles,
Of the most inhospitable sea in the world in their little boat,
Land on South Georgia island,
Then walk across the snow covered mountains to the whaling station,
And bring help.
Which they did.
Then they all went home.
