WHAT IS IT ABOUT LOVE?

Family photo

What is it about love?
Even one you’ve known about,
For most of your life,
That draws us all so close,
Instills happiness and joy,
And a hope that we too,
Can be sprinkled with a bit of fairy dust.
April skies, wind and clouds,
Cool,
But the light hinting at summer,
Another summer,
Together,
On our horizon.
An immutable private connection,
Made public,
With words like “forever and ever”,
The rest of us as witnesses,
Reminding ourselves,
It’s on us,
This sticking together, caring for one another.
Despite inevitable hardships,
We will,
Sometimes in spite of ourselves.
Something magnetic will draw us out,
To find our place,
In an old chair by the fire,
The miracle of miracles
Embedded in this thing called,
Family.
