TRAINING IN VIRTUE

We know they are lying.
Both of them.
All of them.
It’s an accepted practice,
In their line of work.
We know,
A world without virtue,
Without a moral practice,
At its center,
Is in imminent danger of collapse.
We’ve seen the patterns before.
Yet,
We carry on,
Hoping,
Something/someone else will evolve,
That can leads us into grace.
But only our will,
Our personal effort,
In training and practice,
To be better than we were,
To follow the precepts,
Handed down thru generations,
Will lead us to the peace,
We so ardently desire.
