MAYBE NOT THIS LIFE

Maybe Not This Life
These things take time,
you don’t need to worry about it.
Show up,
Dig in the dirt, water, wait,
no need to try and coerce growth,
or see results,
just come back and try again.
Toss away the silly bits,
and keep going.
Eventually,
Things will bloom.
This is how everything works.
Maybe not this life,
maybe the next,
But for sure,
You will rest here,
Beneath this tree,
Knowing what you have done.
