NO ONE TEACHES ANYONE ANYTHING

NO ONE TEACHES ANYONE ANYTHING
(with many thanks to Viola Spolin)
When you teach,
You learn something so simple you know without a doubt it is true.
“No one teaches anyone anything.”
We learn, when we make ourselves ready,
When we trust our teacher so much we will do what is asked,
Then do it again,
Waiting patiently as we grow,
In strength and skill,
Insight and determination.
Always showing up ready,
Despite obstacles internal and external everywhere.
There is no hack to deep learning.
When we teach all we can do is
Optimize conditions for learning,
And wait,
Sharing the joy and satisfaction of our practice,
And our skill,
Waiting for the beauty that will come,
From truly doing the work.
