WHAT THE SCIENCE SAYS…

Somewhere,
In our brains,
In our genes,
Lies the capacity to experience,
Things sacred and transcendent.
We all know this,
And live dangerously,
When we ignore, deny or disrupt it.
The call to make or create,
Or pray,
Left unattended,
Leaves a void,
That can grow,
Into a chasm,
Covered over by the ivy of depression.
Sit down and write,
Or breathe,
Or move,
Or speak to something other,
Until you feel,
The wind blow,
Sun on your face,
Imagination set free,
And purpose restored.
