YAHTZEE

YAHTZEE!!
Warm spring sunlight on the porch,
Rolling hills of central California in the background,
We’ve made it thru another winter.
Sexagenarians and septuagenarians,
Around a table rolling dice and trash talking.
Roll them bones.
Four of a kind, full house,
Or 5 and “Yahtzee” causes everyone to react,
Ooooooohhhhhh! You nailed it! Woah!
Getting the job done!
Celebrating the moment,
The joy of doing something silly,
For nothing more than the pleasure of each other’s company.
Secretly wishing all the time remaining,
Could be like this,
From now on, and on,
Forever.
