HALLOWEEN

Thank goodness it’s finally Halloween,
And she has decorated the house.
So the kiddies will know
We get it.
The joy of doing things together with a community,
Of spooking each other,
Or honoring our dead and gone,
Or just thinking of those not here right now.
The need for tradition,
In the fall and winter,
That pull at our sleeve.
Lights up on outside
To say, there, there
It’s only a little while
And you can be safe here
And get some candy
Provided you make it past the skull and bones on my lawn,
And the screeching witch on my door.
